AIMED is an association comprised of North America's mailing, shipping, and office automation equipment and software dealers. The group's 300+ members are led by a Board of Directors and hold a national conference every year. Communication is vital to keeping members across the country informed and connected — in person, on screen, and in print.
One member of the AIMED Board of Directors, who happened to be from the Des Moines area, was put in charge of updating the association's logo and all communications. Through our connection at his direct mail business, he contacted me to rebrand the association. He put me in touch with the group's Executive Director in California and we got the process started. After a presentation to the board members, the new look was approved. The old logo was replaced with a new one depicting togetherness, individuality, and action — all while resembling an envelope. The use of a consistent typeface was implemented, and a high-contrast, energetic color palette was developed. The website was redesigned and a quarterly newsletter was created. Official letterhead, envelopes, and business cards were distributed for the first time. A small run of folders were printed to house informational packets for both potential members and vendors.
